Forgotten-NY

Kevin Walsh had been noticing ancient advertising and unremarked-upon scenes in New York City for years, but it wasn’t till he moved to Flushing and saw the ancient remaining Victorian and older buildings that stand among the cookie cutter brick apartments that he noticed there was no one out there who was really calling attention to the artifacts of a long-gone New York. Forgotten New York (forgotten-ny.com) launched in March 1999 and has become a go-to reference for NYC infrastructure and its history for millions.

“A city of true spirit and pride in itself — a city worth getting to know — that can enrapture Kevin Walsh, who then enraptures us.” Francis Morrone, NY Sun

“Kevin Walsh has become a kind of cult figure among those who take local lore seriously.” Robert Worth, NY Times
